Judged by a panel of local artists, scientists and community leaders, each image is representative of real Northwestern research across a wide range of disciplines, including medicine, chemistry, engineering and nanotechnology.

The contest is run annually by Science in Society, a Northwestern University office for science outreach and public engagement.
